But Iceland's Gus Gus manage to combine their art-house imperatives with an irreverent pick n' mix attitude to prevalent tends. "Believe" sounds like the last ten years of house music condensed into 3 minutes, Roland 808s squelching next to jumpy percussive break-beats, all held together by sombre vocals that recall Underworld's " Dirty epic". Imagine Dead Can Dance going techno, if that doesn't give you too many nightmares. 3 STARS
