After being given what seems to be an annual Bauhaus compilation of some sort or another, Beggars unleashes this interesting career retrospective that isn't just a greatest hits package. This collection features pre-Beggars era "Bela Lugosi's Dead", a bunch of 4AD tracks and a smattering of well-picked Beggars years stuff. What stikes me about this CD is how well it's sequenced and the actual choice of songs used. The art is from v23 contributor Timothy O'Donnell and Dominic Davies and looks fantastic. Even if you're familiar with Bauhaus or looking for a place to to start exploring the group, "Crackle" is a great place to begin...
